Chicago Public Library - West Loop Branch issued the following announcement on Aug. 26.

At the Maker Lab, we know you're working on ideas and projects, and might have questions about which software is best for creating logos, editing pictures or making tools you can print in 3D.

Now you can send us your questions or request a virtual meeting. Ask a Maker to get help with 3D design, 2D design and fabrication. We’ll respond within 48 hours, with the option of a video consultation.

We offer beginner to intermediate support for free or open-source software like Inkscape, GIMP, Tinkercad, Sculptris and Blender. We offer beginner support for Audacity, LMMS, Krita and Fusion 360. Occasionally we can recommend browser-based tools like Pixlr and Vectr.

We can walk you through setting up files for 3D printers, electronic cutters, CNC mills and laser cutters.

Looking for project ideas? Check out our upcoming online events for ideas, discussion and support.
