Open Books is holding a volunteer training session for its Reading Buddies program on March 6 at its West Loop location at 651 W. Lake Street.
The 90-minute event kicks off at 10 a.m.
“We will be providing all of our volunteers with lots of resources and information to set us all up for a fun and successful semester in our partner schools,” organizers said in a flyer posted online. “We will also be introducing some new information about relationship-building with our students and some methods we will be using this year.”
In particular, Open Books is looking for volunteers with daytime availability throughout the week.
“Please come with all of your questions and excitement to kick off a new school year with our young readers,” the flyer said.
